3 ways to fight anxiety and take control of your jobsearch & life, [FIRST NAME GOES HERE]

Hello Reader,

The whole world is waiting for the US to decide on their president. One thing is already clear: America will remain a deeply divided country. Many professionals in the US consider moving to Europe for this reason.

If you are one of them: Now is a good time to read my book "How To Win Jobs & Influence Germans".

Forgive me if I dwell on this topic for a moment. Because this culture war will shape our world for years to come. Not only in the US, but everywhere.

Here is what I wrote five years ago:

“Tyranny is the deliberate removal of nuance.” – This is the fundamental conflict between the open society and its enemies, expressed in one sentence. It wasn’t a politician or a religious leader who said this, but someone whose profession it is to place a huge question mark on our assumptions and beliefs: comedian Russell Brand.

We are witnessing an attack by the pre-scientific world on the achievements of Enlightenment. It is not a coincidence that Islamists, Pegida and the followers of ‘holy Russia’ so often use personal insults and slander in discussions. Their style of debate is key to their attack.

Three letters and a punctuation mark have set mankind free. A single question was foremost banned throughout the Dark Ages: W-h-y? Continue to read "Brutes of the Dark Ages".

How do you adjust to this reality?

The people who will be successful in the future, are those who bring people together, Reader. Those who are able to endure facts that contradict their prejudice - and are able to adjust their worldview to the real world. (Because if you don't, you fail.)

In terms of your job hunt this means: Investing the time to find the actual decision makers for a job. Investing the respect to reach out to them directly and investing the empathy to use your time with them to learn about their needs - not yours.

If you want to live in a society where facts are valued and the political culture is to look for cooperation, instead of division: Germany is a good place to be. So are most other EU countries.

Invest in building relationships. That's the best road to your next job and the best "life insurance" you can have.

Let me guide you, so that you can use empathy to discover employers real needs - and make yourself the #1 candidate for the job.

I wish you success.

Chris
